Emergency preparedness volunteers for the Knox County Health Department assist their community during public health emergencies. Public health emergencies can include influenza pandemic, an act of terrorism or any other large-scale health related disaster. The success of this program is paramount for the safety and protection of our citizens and relies heavily on volunteers such as you.
Completing the application is the first step in the screening and orientation process. Please complete and e-mail your application, or you may choose to print and send in your application manually. Once we receive and review your application, we will contact you.
By becoming a Knox County Health Department volunteer you are provided free online training courses. These courses can be taken at your leisure and are accessed by clicking on the Volunteer Training box to your right.
Check out the Volunteer Trainings link for upcoming Webinars and local in person trainings (if nothing is posted check back, trainings will be added when available) If you have suggestions about new training for this page please send us an email, we would love to add them here so others can benefit from your wisdom.
You, as a volunteer for emergency preparedness with the Knox County Health Department, are a vital link regarding our citizens, their safety and well being in the event of a disaster. Your willingness to volunteer is greatly appreciated.
