Public Health Program Divisions

Maternal and Childhood Health Programs
The Maternal and Childhood Health department focuses on providing programs and services to support the health of children and families. Programs include Family Case Management, WIC, and Breastfeeding education and support. 


Environmental Health Programs
The Environmental Health Division protects public health through its services and programs which are designed to promote a health environmental, reduce the risks environmental hazards, and reduce the risk associated with food-borne illness. 


Disease Prevention Programs
Knox County Health Department's Disease Prevention programs and services protect public health by reducing the burden of communicable diseases and non-communicable diseases. Services include breast and cervical cancer screenings, through the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, tuberculosis screening, STI and HIV testing, smoking prevention, immunizations, and COVID-19 testing and vaccines. 

Emergency Preparedness 
Knox County Health Department's Division for Emergency Preparedness provides information about how to prepare for an emergency, or join the Medical Reserve Corps.
